Once you have downloaded your new driver, you'll need to install it. In Windows, use a built-in utility called Device Manager, which allows you to see all of the devices recognized by your system, and the drivers associated with them.
When you install and run the client software, it creates a virtual Ethernet adapter on your computer, and assigns an IP address to that adapter. The client software automatically logs into a VPN gateway that is part of the HMNHD-CE and uses IP addresses in the 5.10.0.0 network.
The HMNHD-CE provides one year of free Dynamic Domain Name Service through DDNS provider TZO.com as well as a two year SSL security certificate for your chosen domain name. You can choose your own domain for an additional charge or choose from the two free domains. (iomegalink.com or myiomega.com)
If you want to either manage your HMNHD-CE remotely, or have web browser access to your password protected shares, you need to click on the key in the right corner of the screen to log in. Clicking on the Content Tab displays your available shares (Figure 11). Using your browser, you can upload or download files, delete files and create new directories. In all, the browser-based administration interface for the HMNHD-CE is quite easy to use.
NAS Data Recovery is easy to use. It automatically finds all parameters needed for the recovery, such as RAID start sector, block size, rotation, and drive order. No data recovery background required. No need to buy any other software.
Review "A new version of Iomega Storage Manager is available," the app announces on launch. "Click here to download it." And then it "quits unexpectedly", as Mac OS X politely describes the event, although this happens every time you run it. Click for the upgrade and install it, and the same message about a new version being available pops up. And the app quits "unexpectedly" again.
This was my less than reassuring introduction to Iomega's iConnect Wireless Data Station. A Nas device, which is essentially what this is, shouldn't need proprietary set-up software, but Iomega provides its Storage Manager - versions for Windows and the Mac - to make it easy to find the device on your network and get you started with the web control interface through your browser.
I switched to the Windows version of Storage Manager - which at least runs stably - and got the same story about an upgrade being available. As with the Mac, the "upgrade" you download and install is identical to the version supplied on the bundled CD. This otherwise minor hitch gets a mention because it seems to characterise a certain general lack of care that pervades the whole product.
Oh, the industrial design is good enough: a sleek black box you could just about fit in a large jacket pocket, with some useful LEDs that monitor the overall health of the machine and the status of the individual USB ports. And the specs are impressive: along with its function as a SMB/CIFS and AFP filesharing Nas, it's also a UPnP, DLNA and iTunes server, and can download BitTorrents.
It offers lots of storage for files and backups, and makes it dead easy to share media. It has several built-in media-sharing features, including UPnP and iTunes servers. Media shows up automatically on game consoles, other machines, network TVs and digital picture frames. Torrent downloads are also built-in.
The information in the sheet is based on estimation of whether or not the device is capable of performing a single software transcode of the given quality (using the example average file for that quality).
On April 8, 2008, EMC Corporation announced plans to acquire Iomega for US$213 million.[12] The acquisition was completed in June 2008,[13] making Iomega the SOHO/SMB arm of EMC. EMC kept the Iomega brand name alive with products such as the StorCenter NAS line, ScreenPlay TV Link adapter, and v.Clone virtualization software.[10]
In November 2013, Lenovo announced the construction of a research and development facility near São Paulo, Brazil. This facility would be dedicated to enterprise software and supporting LenovoEMC's development of high-end servers and cloud storage. Construction would cost $100 million and about 100 would be employed at the facility. It would be located in the University of Campinas Science and Technology Park, about 60 miles from São Paulo.[18]
The 400d was a multi-bay network-attached storage (NAS) device. The 400d was powered by an Intel Atom processor running at 2.13 gigahertz, had 2 gigabytes of RAM, and a SATA 3 controller capable of moving data at 6 gigabits per second. The HDMI-out function enabled monitoring live feeds from surveillance cameras. The unit can be set up and managed without a PC using an external display, keyboard, and mouse. The 400d is LenovoEMC's first product sold with its LifeLine 4.1 software, which added functions such as a domain mode, enhanced Active Directory support and a more robust SDK. McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator was included for centralized security management. All THINK-branded systems from Lenovo pre-installed with Windows 8.1 included LenovoEMC Storage Connector in order make discovery and set-up of the 400d and other LenovoEMC NAS devices smoother.[22]
After the NAS receives its IP address, setup is performed via a browser from a computer connected to the same network as the NAS and going to the URL: www.iomegasetup.com(Opens in a new window). This is part of Iomega's new cloud and local network integrated setup process. Setup did not require using the Iomega StorCenter Manager, which was previously needed for older Iomega NASes.
When I went to this URL I received a message on-screen on the setup site that "Your px2-300d is online and ready to use." There are three options the site gives: Backup data and consolidate files, Create Iomega personal cloud, or Manage my px2-300d. Selecting the third option brings you to the configuration interface of the px2. A setup screen opens by default; this is where you can perform rudimentary tasks such as set date and time, configure email notifications, and of course, configure your Iomega Personal Cloud. I mentioned in my last Iomega NAS review that I was wary of a setup process that did not include the StorCenter Manager setup software. The setup process is so streamlined and easy now, however, that I don't miss a setup CD. The online setup process is well-honed and, as long as you have an Internet connection, easy to perform. Of course, you can also always download the StorCenter Manager if you have problems with the browser-based setup.
SecurityUsers can enable security on the px2 which will encrypt any browser communications. You can also upload your own security certificate. Users and groups can be granted specific permissions to data on the NAS and the software also comes with McAfee antivirus protection. The interface can also be forced to only be accessed using HTTPS.
Although using DHCP is the simple solution to get the ball rolling, I typically recommend using a static IP address for each camera, because if your camera reboots or if you router restart, there is a chance that the cameras may be assigned with a different IP, which would then be an issue as most software, including the ix2 internal camera management, rely on an IP address to identify the camera on the network.
For small businesses or enthusiasts who want to have a very respectable video-surveillance/recording setup, the Iomega ix2 offers superior value over the long run when compared to any subscription-based web video recording solution. It is also much better than trying to hook up an old PC with a video surveillance software as a PC would probably be less stable, and non-trivial to configure anyway. [official ix2 product page]
The very first thing is to have the software on your computer if you don't have it already. In other to download, go to recoverit.wondershare.com and click on the "Download for Mac" button. The executable file will be downloaded, go to the folder is get downloaded to. Click on the file and follow the instructions followed.
The step to download the software on windows is quite similar to working on a mac system. Go to recoverit.wondershare.com. On the page click the "Download for Windows" button and the executable file will be downloaded. Once done, click on the downloaded file and follow the instructions therein.
Once the Recoverit is downloaded on your computer system, double click on the icon and you will have a window that has a few options you can pick from depending on the task you want to perform with the software.

1. In your device, download and install the Total Commander application. In the case of Total Commander we will need an additional plugin to be able to access shares over SMB protocol. To install it, go to Add plugins (download).
4. Provide the name of your server (or IP) followed by the name of a relevant share. If your NAS share requires password authentication (see SMB settings of your Open-E software) you will need to provide it here:
