My TransUnion credit report contains a large amount of errors, including a wrong balance and charged-off accounts. It is a mistake because even though I had a period of late payments, now I’m paying on time and the account can not be charged off. I’m wondering if I can correct the information. I would also need to understand whose fault is for these mistakes. Should I dispute the information with the bank or with the credit reporting agency?

Many people face errors in their credit reports, so it’s already a common thing. You should dispute with the credit reporting agency, not with the lender because after your dispute, the CRA should go and verify the information. If after the disputing process, the information in your report was not corrected, you might be eligible for a lawsuit, so you’ll need to hire an attorney. Anyway, I suggest you read this article first because it might provide you with many important and useful insights.
